Vehicles in German Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.

City officials said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for information.

An important representative commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
